MY FINANCIAL CHALLENGE:
I thank God for each day He gives me, and I pray I will have the opportunity to serve Him for years to come. The one challenge I am dealing with now is a lack of funds to be able to pay for the treatment I receive. The immunospupressive medication I take costs (believe it or not) $3,000.00 a month. Thankfully, I do have insurance so that takes the cost to me down to $150.00 per month. However, this medication is only one out of 11 medications I have to take daily in order to fight this disease. Most of these medications cost about $20.00 – $30.00 per month. Monthly bills run about $400.00 for prescriptions and $150.00 per month for doctor visits. This is my cost AFTER the insurance has paid what it can. In addition to this there are a number of tests I have to have each year to monitor my blood and internal organs. These tests monitor whether the theraputic drugs are doing harm to me or helping. They also determine whether the PAN is active and flaring or managed and quiet. The costs of these tests and seeing the specialists who administer them run about $6,000.00 per year of which insurance pays for about $2,500.00, leaving me to cover the balance of $3,500.00.
The church here in Gunnison has been a God-send in that many people have financially sacrificed in order to help me fight this condition. However, most of these funds ran out 6 months ago. In order to keep the bills from going into collections, Jessica and I have put these costs onto credit cards. We do our best to pay them down, but they are climbing higher and higher with each passing month. It pains me to ask for financial assistance from others. Especially in a time of economic turmoil in our country. Circustances, however, have caused me to seek help. And, so I ask, most humbly, that if you can help, your support would be greatly appreciated.

The elders have set up a separate account to help pay for medical costs. All receipts and invoices are copied and given to the church for filing.
